On October 26, 2018, the “Methanol-fueled Vehicles, special parts/Components and Promotion/Application/Assembly Show” organized by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers was held in Kunshan Exhibition Center, Suzhou。It is said that this exhibition is a professional exhibition for the automobile industry, and there were nearly two hundred top rate enterprises in the automobile industry attending the exhibition, and they also attended the organizing meeting of China Liquid Sunshine Industry-University-Research Union。
Wang Jianming, from Suzhou Gaomai New Energy Co., Ltd, the sponsor of the meeting, made subject speech on the technical route of “Hydrogen and Carbon Recovery Alcohol Closed Cycle Golden Triangle” and proposed the finding of China Liquid Sunshine Industry-University-Research Union。
Han Difei from Dalian Institute of Chemistry under Chinese Academy of Sciences made a speech on the subject of “Liquid Sunshine Drives Energy Revolution. Huang Zhenyu from Shenzhen Guanghong Co., Ltd made a speech on “Capital Value of Liquid Sunshine Industrial Chain”, and Huang Ping from Guangdong Hejide Energy Technology made a speech on the “Research and Application of Methanol Reformed Hydrogen Production Battery Power System”。All enterprises and experts jointly announced the necessity of finding the union and they were filled with development confidence and strength。
In the recent years, new energy automobiles have been rapidly developed. Meanwhile, there is division in power orientation towards new energy vehicles – whether the future of new energy vehicles is pure lithium battery (EV) powered or hydrogen powered vehicles (FVC)?
China Liquid Sunshine Industry-University-Research Union believes that pure lithium powered (EV) vehicles are confined in “longer charging duration, shorter driving mileage, and difficulty in charging piles” and other troubles so they are unable to be promoted further. In addition, in the future there is risk in secondary battery pollution. However, although hydrogen powered battery circuits (FCV) are strongly recommended by Toyota and Hyundai, there are still problems in the manufacture, storage, transportation and refilling of hydrogen as well as the construction of infrastructure. Therefore, the union put forward a set of brand new solutions -- “Hydrogen and Carbon Recovery Alcohol Closed Cycle Golden Triangle”, which is a complete, sustainable and cyclic technical route for new energy vehicles。
It is reported that this Union is led by Suzhou Gaomai New Energy Co., Ltd, and organized by Dalian Institute of Chemistry under Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Hejide New Energy Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Guanghong Holdings Co., Ltd and other enterprises. The “Golden Triangle of Alcohol-Hydrogen Chain” advocated by the Union means methanol fuel battery circuits that replace combustion engines. First, the carbon dioxide generated by methanol splitting on the vehicle will be recovered for the vehicle, and then oxygen production is made by clean energy power electrolysis, and finally it will synthesized with such carbon dioxide into methanol, thus forming a closed cycle。Such an idea was put forward by Wang Jianming, chairman of Suzhou Gaomai。He has been engaged in combustion engines for over 40 years, but he is acute in having a new insight of the trend of world energy structure transformation to give up his skillful working experience in combustion engines and decide to start out as a beginner from the oxygen fuel vehicle field。
Wang Jianming also mentioned that since the industrial revolution, fossil energy and combustion engines have been the leading roles in the energy and power field. While it offers the human beings tremendous economic development, it has opened the magic box of resource exhaustion, environmental pollution and greenhouse effect in particular. And this technical route will further integrate advantageous resources in an overall manner by founding the union, tackle technical problems, and be dedicated to probing into a demonstration road for new energy for the industry and for the nation.
